Looks like reports from Japan that you’ll need to sink big coin into a new 300m or 1000m Seiko Professional Quartz diver’s watch aren’t all wet.
Yesterday Seiko Japan announced model SBBN00E will come out in April and retail for ¥420,000. Sure this Robert F. Marx limited edition model of 300 units is bound to be more expensive than a standard piece, but these kind of prices give credence to predictions a soon-to-be-released redesigned 300m to sell for over $1,200 US, and a standard version 1000m for over $2,000.
The new limited edition 1000m pictured above has a caseback inscription from Marx that reads “THERE’S A POT OF GOLD WAITING TO BE FOUND AT THE END OF EVERY RAINBOW.”
It might be as aptly read “Takes a Pot of Gold to Buy This Watch.” Or any future Seiko Japan Professional Quartz diver’s watch?
