The GMT+9 Auction Watchlist #14

Welcome back to our smorgasbord of interesting watches sold on eBay and Yahoo! Japan. I’ve got examples here that were sold in February and March of 2009.

It was a good month for rare quartz dive watches on Yahoo! Japan. The orange Ricoh pictured above sold for 94,111 yen. An identical model in black also sold recently for 73,111 yen.
Just as rare as the Ricoh’s is this 600M Citizen Crystron. I have one of these, and they are suprisingly large. At 29,600 yen, this was in my mind, a bargain. My lowball bid was the second highest.
This is a very very early Seiko pocketwatch sold under the “Excellent” name. You can see the American influence on this one, especially with the hands. It went for 12,500 yen. Another example with box and chain sold for 21,000 yen.
These regulator Pocketwatches are very desirable. Price was 111,000.
The case on this blacked out 7017 Speedtimer is the best I’ve seen. Usually they are scratched up. This watch looked like new, right down to it’s funky bracelet. 12,100 yen.
It’s been awhile since I’ve shown a 6347 Seiko 5 mechanical moonphase. This one is in nice shape. It’s a shame that Seiko didn’t use this caliber in different watches. 21,000 yen.
This is a pretty 5719 with an Olympic Caseback. 63,000 yen.
52KS Chronometers are not exceedingly hard to find, but one with a nice grey dial is. 51,000 yen.
These early Seiko ana-digi watches are cool. I think that’s a speaker in the upper left quadrant! 17,000 yen.
The Great Blue series was a line that Seiko released in the early 2000’s. It only had abut a one year model run. Excellent dial and high end quartz 8F56 movement in this one which sold for 12,000 yen.
I keep telling myself that I need one of these stopwatches for my collection, but I never bid on them when they come up. 10,000 yen was a good price.
18,000 yen for this Ricoh diver. Check out the crown and the brushing on the case. This watch is in nice shape!
I’ve never been able to figure out what the little rotary dial on this Timekeeper stopwatch does. I suspect it either tracks laps or serves a countdown function.Anyone have an idea? 6,450 yen.
What a gorgeous Seiko. There’s probably a 7619 in this Deluxe model. I have an almost identical gold plated model. At around 6,500 yen, this one was a steal.
Cover your eyes! This Thermo Memory Alba is colorful isn’t it? 2,000 yen.
A Citizen Moondater is a rare site on eBay or Yahoo! Japan. This one was on eBay and went for about $138.00.
The $731.00 price for this 4S15 military on eBay is proof that the market for truly collectible Seikos is still strong.
I’ve noticed that the prices have been creeping up for these SUS kinetics with the explorer dials. $197.50.
The $1,850 selling price for this Transpolar Landmaster was the highest I’ve seen in the last couple of years.
Good price on a cool orange DW-5700 Beams GShock. $100.00.
There are those that think that the DLC coating on MRG’s is indestructible. I’ve had one before and while it was tough, it could be scratched. Here’s proof in the form of a MRG-7500. This one is surprisingly beat up. I wonder how it got this way? Low price of $470.00 was understandable given the condition.
To end this post, here is an orange H558 Seiko. $230.00.
