Word from Japan is pre-orders there for the new yellow G-Shock Frogman GF-8250-9JF were sold out in just 5 hours.
The newest Frogman retails for ¥38,000 (about $460 US), and is a combination of past and current designs, including the plastic bezel design and caseback logo reminiscent of the DW-8200 models, Tough Solar-only technology (no atomic syncing) like G-200 models, and a dial layout that includes a tide graph like GWF-1000 models.
GMT+9 friend Seiya Kobayashi in Tokyo says he had to go to a store in person to pre-order GF-8250, and was only able to get 2 watches so far. No surprise — looks like Frogman GF-8250-9JF is gonna be a very popular model.
Seiya-san, who’s a big fan of military-style watches, also mentioned his original-design stealth military watch, which went on sale last weekend, is selling fast. Only 15 pieces were produced, and 8 have already been sold. It goes for $298 shipped.
